Slugs sleep in
The closing date for the cabin is November 10th, not really that far off when you consider all we need to find and buy to furnish the place.
It makes more sense to buy furniture in Atlanta, so yesterday we were on the road at 6:15 am in search of good deals. Its good to be on the road at that time of the day. All the boneheads are still sleeping, so no traffic jam ups en route. We have been on the road quite a lot these days and we have noticed a trend in vehicles. People who own Slug Bugs do not get up early and drive on the highway! Yesterday, the first one we spotted was at 7:55 am. By the time we got to our first furniture store at 9, we had only seen 2 other Bugs. Interesting!
After visiting many, many furniture stores and "closeout" places, we have decided that when you can't make it as a car dealer, you go and sell furniture. We met some of the most weasely salespeople! The one that took the cake was a woman at a "mattress outlet" who told us that they didn't make bunk beds with a full on bottom and a twin at top. She was not a friendly person and very pushy. I finally told her, YES, they DO make those, we just saw one at Rooms to Go. As you can guess, we left there soon there after without buying a thing.
We found the most comfortable couch in the world in the clearance center of a store where we also found the majority of the furniture. It isn't the best looking couch in the world, but its big and soft and you will never see another one like it anywhere. Mallory will probably never want to get off it. Its just that comfortable.
We got home at 11 pm last night after having a great meal with Len and Megan. Its nice to have some real food with the family when you've been dealing with salespeople all day!
