Punta Cana, Domincan Republic

I haven't taken time to blog about it or post any pics about our vacation, but I have some good pics and great stories that I will be posting as time permits.

These are a few things I learned...
Don't go out to a brewery to celebrate Canada Day with Len & a bunch of Canadians the night before a morning flight, even if you are riding MARTA home.
The Dominican Republic shares the island of Hispaniola with Haiti.
Don't talk to the guys at the Vacation Club. If so, hold them to the one hour time limit they give you.
International travel is wearing.
Always take more sunblock then you think you'll need because the resort rapes you on the price of it.
Learn to speak Spanish.
Flamingos bite.
If you want to take an excursion, book it when you get there so you don't run out of time to do it.
Don't stay ANYWHERE that doesn't have internet access in the room. You have WAY too much junk to wade thru when you get back.
Don't drink wine and rum in the same night
Coconut ice cream is the best thing on the lunch buffet.
Slot machines will steal your money and quickly
Clark is an excellent sailboat captain.
Poor people in the US sure have it good. Even our poorest peep live better then what we saw along the road in Maximo's crazy van.
6 nights is too long to be away from the pack.
Coca-Cola Light & Diet Pepsi are terrible tasting, so always drink the coffee. It's very rich and dark.
$8 for a Wendy's Spicy Chicken combo at the Punta Cana airport isn't too much $$.
Upgrading to first class for 500 SkyMiles is a good deal for the trip home.
